| Scientists from many
universities and other organizations have cooperative programs to study
different conditions effecting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park
wildlife. Our area boasts some of the most experienced Park
Rangers due to different Black Bear programs, such as the recently
introduced 'Bear-Proof Dumpsters" and have even suggested improved
design, and offer very valuable data as to the effect since this program
was implemented. Other long term research includes the studies of
salamanders, spiders and migratory game birds. |
